Richard Hammond took the plunge and told his Grand Tour co-stars of his new hobby only to be berated.
Richard Hammond appeared to tee off his Grand Tour co star Jeremy Clarkson after announcing his new hobby to the Cotswolds resident and their other co star James May. Hammond who lives in Weston under Penyard in Herefordshire decided to break the news to Clarkson and May that he had developed a new passion for golf .Although 52 year old Hammond has since said he feels liberated for confessing his new love Clarkson and May appeared to be less than impressed with cantankerous Clarkson 62 refusing to speak to his co star for two days. Meanwhile May 59 also berated Hammond for taking up golf.
Speaking to the Rick Shiels Golf Show podcast, Hammond confessed that he used to despise the sport before developing an affinity for it whilst on holiday with his friends in the South of France The Sun reports. After taking two lessons he decided to share his new love with his long time friends. He said Jeremy did not speak to me for a couple of days and was genuinely genuinely hurt. I wish it had been longer.Over the years Hammond has been the butt of many of Clarkson jokes but he finally hit back earlier this year. In April Hammond, who lives in a mock castle in Herefordshire spoke about the return of his Comedy Central show Brain Reaction.
The 52 year old said earlier this year that he is now able to watch the footage of the 2006 high speed crash that left him with serious injuries. The presenter crashed a jet-powered dragster called Vampire at nearly 320mph while filming for Top Gear at the former RAF Elvington airbase near York. Although the incident left him with serious head injuries he managed to make a full recovery and returned to the show in early 2007. But the horrors of the crash have not stopped the irrepressible Clarkson from making the odd quip at his old friends expense.
