The Vampire Diaries, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder reveal if they would return in the future .

The Vampire Diaries, is there a new spin-off on the horizon? After Legacies closed, Julie Plec made no secret that she already had an idea in mind for the next series set in the vampire world of Mystic Falls. In a recent interview with the American magazine US Weekly , the actors of the brothers Stefan and Damon Salvatore answered a question regarding their possible involvement in the future of the franchise .

The Vampire Diaries continues to be one of the most successful series more than a decade after its debut, and it won't be long before producer Warner Bros. Television decides to revive the Mystic Falls universe in a brand new way. just like it did with Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars . Let's get down to business: Would Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder be willing to return to a TVD spin-off series in the future?"No, I'm done with vampires" is Paul Wesley 's dry and decisive replyHow to blame him: the actor worked hard to get out of Stefan Salvatore's shadow. Next year he will make his debut as Captain James T. Kirk in the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds , taking over the role of the legendary William Shatner.

Ian Somerhalder, for his part, already seemed more of a possibility. " If we were the directors [of a possible spin-off] and we could take the whole crew to Spain to shoot the series, why not ... " said Damon's performer, although - judging by his words - it seems that Ian Somerhalder is more interested in a vacation than in TVD's return.

Anyone who loves Julie Plec's vampire universe will have to put their hearts in peace. The next series of the Mystic Falls universe will have to do without Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, even if it is not excluded that the presence of Stefan and Damon Salvatore will continue to be felt in that world and in the stories that will be told. We look forward to the next developments.
