In an interview with CBR, Shoresy stars Jon Mirasty and Brandon Nolan compare their real-life pro hockey experiences with the comedy series.
The Letterkenny spinoff series Shoresy doubles down on the comedy franchise's ice hockey antics, with the eponymous hockey player leading the Sudbury Bulldogs to never endure another loss and bring their community together. Among the veteran athletes making up the Bulldogs are a number of real-life hockey players, including Jon Mirasty and Brandon Nolan. Making up two-thirds of the Bulldogs' formidable Jims, Mirasty and Nolan lend their real-world hockey background to add to Shoresy's commitment towards authenticity in its prominent hockey sequences.
In an exclusive interview with CBR Jon Mirasty and Brandon Nolan expressed their amazement at Shoresy's dedication to depicting a faithful hockey story. The pair also explained how it was jumping into a comedy series after their respective pro-athlete careers and explained how Shoresy has particularly impressed both of them.
Jon Mirasty When I first got the opportunity at first I took it as a joke. An old hockey player that hasn't really acted at all? Ib would done the odd commercial here and there, when I was playing pro. I looked at my email and said Whats Letterkenny? I did not even know what it was. I went home and told my wife about it, and she was like Oh my god. After that I realized it was a show. Even the local people here in Saskatchewan just love it and it's got a huge following. Brandon and I got to go to a live show in Vegas and we were amazed by the support it gets. People from all over are just loving the show. This is a great opportunity and I'm happy that we had the opportunity to be part of it and go from there.
