The strict diet that Hugh Jackman followed to become Wolverine

When we see certain actors and actresses on the big screen we are surprised by their enviable physical condition. The absence of fat and defined muscles set a trend in Hollywood something that the interpreters also have to work for in their day to day.

This is the case of Hugh Jackman known for playing among many other roles, Wolverine. The 53 year old American in addition to training hard every day underwent a strict diet in order to achieve the body that he exhibited in the X Men and Wolverine movies .

Jackman stated that he consumed around 4,000 or 5,000 calories a day. An exorbitant amount considering that the one recommended by the World Health Organization  WHO for men is between 2,000 and 2,500.To counteract this intake and not gain weight the actor followed the 16/8 diet. It is a type of intermittent fasting that consists of going 16 hours without eating and doing it only in a window of 8 hours, in which a large amount of calories is ingested.

People who follow this regimen usually have their last meal at dinner and do not eat again until lunchtime the next day skipping breakfast. However there are other types of fasts such as the 24-hour fast or the 5/2 fast in which two days a week the caloric intake is drastically reduced. As for training, Jackman followed an intense routine exercising for at least three hours and five days a week with his personal trainer. The actor performed a combination of all kinds of bodybuilding exercises cardio and HIIT  high intensity interval training.
