Shantaram: Trailer Features New Series From 'Sons of Anarchy' Star

 Apple TV+ has released the poster and first trailer for the series  Shantaram  starring Charlie Hunnam Sons of Anarchy. The preview shows a complex story full of twists.





 Shantaram adapts the worldwide bestseller of the same name, written by Gregory David Roberts in 2003 about the journey of a man named Lin who after escaping from an Australian prison reinvents himself as a doctor in the slums of Bombay India in 1980s.He ends up getting involved with a local mob boss Alexander Siddig from  Gotham and eventually uses his weapons trafficking and counterfeiting skills to fight off invading Russian troops in Afghanistan. At the same time he falls in love with an enigmatic and intriguing woman named Karla  Antonia Desplat from  Letter to the King and must choose between freedom or love and the complications that come with that choice.


The production is written by Eric Warren Singer   American Hustle directed by filmmaker Justin Kurzel  Assassins Creed and also has producer writer Steve Lightfoot The Punisher as showrunner.


The project was originally going to be a film starring and produced by Johnny Depp, but that incarnation never got off the ground. Its version as a series was originally announced three years ago even before the launch of Apple TV+. The first three episodes will be released on October 14th and new chapters will be released weekly every Friday until December 16th.
