Henry Cavill’s Final Scene in The Witcher Revealed

The third season of Netflix’s The Witcher still starring Henry Cavill, Anya Chalotra and Freya Allan is coming to the streamer this summer. It will be especially a bittersweet experience as this is to be Henry Cavill’s last outing as Geralt of Rivia. Now we know even what his final scene will be.

We’ve learned that Henry Cavill‘s final scene as Geralt of Rivia will be him giving up being a witcher. A supporting character will call for him, yelling “Witcher!“, to which Geralt will answer: “No, no more“, implying that he no longer considers himself a witcher now.

This ties quite well with what showrunner Lauren Hissrich said a few months ago about Geralt at the beginning of Season 4 and Henry Cavill’s heroic sendoff as the titular witcher:Geralt’s big turn is about giving up neutrality and doing anything that he has to do to get to Ciri. And to me, it’s the most heroic sendoff that we could have, even though it wasn’t written to be that. Geralt has a new mission in mind when we come back to him in Season 4. He’s a slightly different Geralt than we expected. Now, by the way, that’s an understatement.”

This is likely Netflix speeding things up a little bit, or quite a bit, as Geralt does a very similar thing at the end of Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Tower of the Swallow. There too he gave up on being a witcher and saw his medallion melt in a fire. Although there he did it under different circumstances.
