An extravagant Leonardo figure turns the katana-wielding Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle into an anime-style mech with a mighty arsenal of accessories.
Leonardo of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles gets a radical robot reinvention in a new figure produced by Heat Boys that turns the katana-wielding reptile into a mech reminiscent of anime classics like Robotech or Mobile Suit Gundam.
The impressive figure, scheduled for a late 2022 release, boasts a slew of accessories, including twin katanas, daggers, revolvers, a shield, shuriken and a rifle that fires mutagen potions. The middle section of Leonardo's shield can be used as a slot for the figure's daggers and shurikens, and the TMNT leader's shell opens to hold various items. Last but not least, Leonardo comes packaged with collectible parts of the Turtle Van and transparent green TMNT figures.
The Turtle Van parts and figures are included in all of Heatboy's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles mecha releases, which the company began teasing in 2021. Concept art released by Heat Boys shows the other striking designs of the mecha TMNT, with Donatello boasting a tattered purple cloak, Raph wielding giant fist extensions and Wolverine-style claws, and Mikey wearing shoulder missile launchers. A Shredder figure is also in the works, and has been teased by the company on its Facebook page.
