Timothée Chalamet Says A Hollywood Icon Told Him Not To Do Drugs Or Superhero Movies

Leonard DiCaprio gave Timothée Chalamet career advice: no hard drugs or superhero movies.

Timothée Chalamet is one of Hollywood’s best young actors and it seems like getting advice from Hollywood legends is just part of the deal when you’re a critical and commercial darling. Recently, Chalamet revealed to British Vogue that Leonardo DiCaprio once advised him “No hard drugs and no superhero movies.” That advice seems to be working just fine for Chalamet so far.

In the 1990s, Leonardo DiCaprio was the young heartthrob actor of the day and he turned his career into one full of phenomenal roles and performances. If there’s anyone Timothée Chalamet could get great advice from, Leo seems like the right candidate. The two even starred together in the 2021 film Don’t Look Up, so hopefully, we’ll get more collaborations between the two in the future.

Timothée Chalamet’s most recent project is the decidedly non-superhero film Bones and All, which received an 8-minute standing ovation at its Venice Film Festival premiere. Bones and All marks Chalamet’s second collaboration with filmmaker Luca Guadagnino, who directed Chalamet in his breakout role as Elio in Call Me By Your Name. If the Venice Film Festival reaction is anything to go by, it seems like Bones and All will enjoy similar critical and commercial success.
