Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her 50th birthday by covering herself in gold and posing nude for an Instagram shot.
Gwyneth Paltrow may have just turned 50, but she isn’t shying away from the number, or being nude. The Marvel actress just went on her Instagram account to celebrate her birthday with a nude photo and a nod to a classic James Bond movie. Paltrow posed in profile (and discreetly covering her naughty bits) while covered in gold body paint, in a bit of an homage to Margaret Nolan, the actress who was covered in gold in the title sequence of the 1964 James Bond film Goldfinger.
This is not the first time the Shakespeare in Love actress has gone buff for her 8.2 million Instagram followers and made an empowering statement for women to embrace their bodies as they age. In 2020, Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her 48th birthday with a nude photo as well, only this time, without gold paint and taking a nearly identical pose out in nature (hopefully on her own property). She even used the post’s caption to promote her Goop Body Butter, saying it gave her the confidence to strike a pose in the buff, but her daughter Apple Paltrow Martin (with ex-husband Chris Martin of the band Coldplay) expressed her embarrassment with it in a one-word comment: “MOM.”.
“Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin,” Gwyneth Paltrow once said as she promoted her highly successful lifestyle brand Goop, which offers health and wellness products with a focus on natural, holistic ingredients. Goop offers newsletters, books, vitamins, and other lifestyle products marketed to professional women, which is probably why Paltrow often uses her nude body to promote her products’ effectiveness. In 2020, she even sold a candle that she claimed smelled like her vagina, but press for the product quickly backfired after a customer reported the candle exploded in her home.
