Randy Orton is one of WWE's biggest stars and has had to overcome a number of major injuries to retain his main event status.
There is a reason the WWE Universe calls Randy Orton the Apex Predator, as the 14 time WWE Champion can be quite unpredictable and ruthless when it comes to his matches. The Viper has displayed those characteristics throughout his decorated wrestling career and has inflicted severe punishments on his opponents. But that also means that he had to put his own body at risk on some occasions when he inflicted punishment upon his adversaries.
Randy Orton has sustained multiple injuries throughout his career to the point that he suffers from hypermobility on both his shoulders as a result of the years of abuse his body had to endure. With that said let's take a look at every major injury Randy Orton sustained throughout his career in detail.
Randy Orton made his official WWE debut in 2002 and picked up an upset victory against Hardcore Holly in his first televised match. He then got traded to the Raw brand later that year and continued to perform before he sustained the first major injury oh his career.
He suffered a shoulder injury that sidelined him from in-ring competition for several months. However, he continued to appear on the shows in his own Randy News Network segment, in which he talked about his condition in weekly vignettes. However, the injury came as a blessing in disguise for Orton as WWE had plans for him to join the Evolution faction straight away after his return.
Randy Orton's road to his first WWE Championship started in 2007 as he started feuding with John Cena as he advanced towards his crowning moment. He reached that moment when Vince McMahon awarded him the WWE Championship at the 2007 No Mercy PPV.
He then lost and won back the title from Triple H on the same night and continued his reign before he eventually dropped the title to The Game at the 2008 Backlash PPV. During his attempts at recapturing the title, Orton sustained an injury to his collarbone which took him out of action for a while.
