The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles do not switch up their looks very often but the next time they do the franchise needs to take note of this fanart .

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are heroes in half-shells that work from the shadows to keep the criminal element of New York City in check. And in an inventive fanart redesign of these iconic reptilian brothers fans get a peek at a new look the TMNT franchise needs to take note of.

Posted on Twitter by username  Yotakuboi Taku is a character designer comic artist and writer that’s always sharing something new and creative for their followers to enjoy. Dabbling not just in the world of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Taku consistently uploads original art from their webcomic, K9, plus fanart from the worlds of Dragon Ball Godzilla and even Ben 10 A group of brothers raised in the sewers and taught martial arts by their mutated rat father figure Splinter this turtle team consists of its level headed leader Leonardo brilliant mastermind Donatello hot headed brawler, Raphael and carefree spirit Michelangelo. Brandishing weapons that suit each based on their specific abilities the turtles general look and design do not usually change much outside of their individualized colored bandanas yet with Taku in the illustrators seat they get a visual update that makes all the difference.

Standing ready to beat down the next Foot Soldier to cross their path Taku shows off his character design chops by giving each turtle a unique look that fits who they are as individuals. Drawing Leo with a hand on his trusty katana, Taku gives him a full head bandana and blue scarf-like accessory while keeping his general shape and size the same as previous incarnations of the character. Next drawing Donnie as he perches on his bo staff looking slightly more sleek and skinny than what Leo was depicted as Taku places goggles over his purple bandana and even adds a robotic arm for good measure.

Leaning into the idea that Raph is the hulking brute of the team Tatu gives him a spikier shell and teeth along with a red bandana that covers his missing eye completing Raphs look by adding his signature sai weapons that he holds tight. Last but not least Taku turns Mikey into a more chibi like turtle as he hAs quite literally half the size of everyone else. Drawing him with his tongue playfully sticking out while clad in a yellow and black bandana Mikey holds his nunchaku at the ready with a tiny peace symbol on his belt finishing this rad redesign in a way that will make fans clamor for more.
